The Howitzer and Buzz-saw Show

Dec 9, 2020

Even though so much has changed in sports, one thing has stayed the same: the NFL and the NBA own the national news. This edition of the Howitzer and Buzz-saw Show focuses on the NFL’s handling of COVID-19 and player movement in the NBA.

To start things off, George “the Howitzer” Gerbo and Mike “the Buzz-saw” Asti discuss the lack of consistency in the NFL’s decisions to postpone some games and not others. Mike and George give their thoughts on what options the NFL now has to get through this season and postseason. As has become the norm, the Pittsburgh Steelers have found themselves involved in more COVID drama than any other team, which allows Mike to offer his insight as someone who covers the team professionally.

The conversation shifts to the NBA offseason in second half of the show. Who, if anyone, won the Russell Westbrook for John Wall trade? While the Wizards are undoubtedly more entertaining, are they really that much better? How much drama could erupt between Bradley Beal and Westbrook? Does Wall have a chance to revive his career in Houston and how does this move impact the future of James Harden?

All that and more on the HBS, which conquers sports radio, one day, at a time....
