It’s been a decade of excellence on the Howitzer and Buzz-saw Show, and that meant George “the Howitzer” Gerbo and Mike “the Buzz-saw” Asti opening up the first show of 2011 with a retrospective of the last 10 years of their podcast. 

Once the trip down memory lane was over, it was time to break down a major trade in the NBA. What message does James Harden finally getting his wish send to other NBA super-stars who are unhappy with their current team? Who’s mostly to blame for his time in Houston not resulting in a trip to the NBA Finals? Is it now championship or bust for the Nets? Can Harden fit in with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving on the court or is this a big 3 that’s headed for drama and chaos? The Howitzer and Buzz-saw debate which future Hall of Famer needs to take a backseat and be the third option. Mike even explains to George how the media may play role and how this team develops. 

The NBA may have stole a headline from the NFL for a day, but the NFL is never quiet news wise, especially as teams not still playing for a trip to the Super Bowl are dealing with the aftermath of their season. Can Deshaun Watson follow Harden and get himself out of Houston? Why is it tougher for an NFL player to control his destiny? And if Watson is traded, where will he end up? Mike also details the busy offseason for the Pittsburgh Steelers, one that seems to currently have more questions than answers, as well as, what the future may look like for one of the NFL’s marquee franchises.
